What you'll see and what you won't
The check reads public details about your business from the Google Places API when you run it. We store nothing and send the results to nobody unless you ask us to.
What the check shows
- Your rating and number of reviews
- How old the reviews Google returns are
- Website, phone, opening hours and photos
- Main category and business status
- A comparison with up to five similar businesses nearby
- 3 to 5 recommendations based on what's missing
What Google doesn't share through the API
- Whether and how you reply to reviews
- Posts, offers and events
- Questions and answers
- The business description you write (the API only returns Google's short summary)
- Your list of services and products
- Whether the profile is verified and who manages it
- How your reviews have changed over time (the API returns 5 reviews at most)
- Where you rank for specific searches

What people ask us
01Is the check really free?
Yes. There's nothing to pay and no sign-up. If you like, we'll go through the results with you on a short call, also free.
02Where does the data come from?
From the Google Places API, which serves the same details Google shows on Maps. We read them at the moment of the check and store nothing, so the results may differ from what you see on Maps a week later.
03Why can't I find my business?
Try the exact name from Google Maps plus the town or street. Google sometimes struggles with businesses that have no public address and only serve an area. If it still doesn't work, write to us and we'll check your profile by hand.
04How do you choose businesses to compare with?
Google returns businesses with the same main category within 3 km of you, ordered by how prominent they are on Maps. If there are too few, we search within 10 km. It's a rough look at your area, not a ranking of the whole market.
05Why is the latest review date only approximate?
Through the API, Google returns five reviews at most and picks them by relevance, not by date. Your actual latest review may be more recent than the check shows.
